Isaac VANNEST was born on 20 Feb 1763 in Sandyston, Sussex, NJ. He was baptized on 23 Feb 1763 in Dutch Reformed Church, Machackemack (Port Jervis), NY. He died on 24 Dec 1839. Isaac and Elzabeth Hankinson married in Sussex County and had a farm near Sandyston where they raised their five children. Around 1816 sons George and John moved their families to Bradford County, Pennsylvania. It is very likely that Isaac and Elizabeth also moved to Bradford County about the same time. All three families appear in 1820 Census of Bradford County with farms near Wysox.By 1830 sons Daniel and Isaac Whifield are married and have farms near Wysox. By 1850 George, Issac Whitfield and John have farms near Standing Stone.

We may assume that Isaac and Elizabeth's youngest child, Catherine, came to Bradford County and was living there with her parents when her cousin Judith, the wife of Peter Lantz, died in 1821. She apparently returned to Sussex County to marry Peter in 1822. Peter and Catherine moved their family to Bradford County about 1825 initially locating in Wysox.
